How to Get to Galaxy Soho for the Hot & Spicy Festival Aug 14-16

With but a few days to go until the start of the hottest festival Beijing has ever known, it's time to prepare your game plan for getting to Galaxy Soho and secure the best spot among fellow fire-breathing capsaicin fans. The event runs 3-9pm on Friday and 11am-8pm on both Saturday and Sunday. Early bird tickets are still available online until Friday, Aug 14 at noon, or simply turn up and pay RMB 30 at the door.
To make sure you can successfully navigate your way through the haze of chili that will enshroud the city next weekend, we've put together these easy-to-follow directions.
This year's Hot & Spicy Fest is once again taking place in a venue we're now very familiar with and fond of: Zaha Hadid's swooping, warren-like building, Chaoyangmen's Galaxy Soho.
Located just a hop, skip, and a jump from central Beijing, Galaxy Soho is a breeze to get to whether you're coming from the north, south, east, or west (to be honest, it's pretty hard to miss).
If you're planning to get there by taxi, you can ask your driver to take you to 银河Soho (yínhé soho) or 朝阳门桥西南角 (cháoyángmén qiáo xīnánjiǎo, literally "the southwest corner or Chaoyangmen bridge"). If you're taking a Didi, simply type in "Galaxy" and it'll be your first result.
For subway riders, simply find your way to Line 2 or 6 and get off at Chaoyangmen subway station, leave through Exit D and head south on foot by following directions to Galaxy Soho exit.
Come hungry and ready to party!
Finally, to get you in the mood for our big event, you can read about the entertainment, vendors, and general spice related content here: thebeijinger.com/2020-hot-spicy-festival (or by clicking on "Read more" at the bottom of this page). For now, rest up, cleanse your mind of all bad thoughts, and drink plenty of milk. We look forward to seeing you all next weekend!
